Some evening fishing at the cottage lake from 17-19.30. Started from a rock formation in the middle of relatively deep water. Nothing with bigger pike lures so i decided to switch to perch gear to see if there were some perch home. In very short window i managed to catch two small pikes with normal jig fishing. Then silent so i decided to try different spot. Went to a shallow bay (1-1,5 m of water) and started to cast near an outer grass spot. On second throw with big mcrubber firetiger (with 15 g head weight to swim near the bottom) there was a little better fish on (3,45 kg). I managed to net it quite quickly and for the first time i had to use Knipex cutters to cut the hook so that i would not hurt the pike when releasing it. Of course i only had one rig and no extra hooks with me.. well i was heading home soon anyways so it didnt bother me that much.
The fall is coming for sure and soon its time to switch to big shad lures since it seems they are starting to work again after summer.
