We had a relaxation day at work and while the others went to the forest for a quick walk before the sauna, I decided to go for a quick fishing session. I had all my fishing gear at countryside, but I happened to have the light and small Patriot Fireball set at hand. Naturally i packed that in the morning and also a magnum minnow spoon in gold. I had no leader what so ever and no tools at all. So I attached the lure straight to the line and started casting. I have had so bad experiences fishing from the shore, so I did not expect to catch anything.. But after testing a few spots and like 10 minutes I suddenly felt a strong attack in a shallow bay with water lilies. I immediately realised its not a small pike. The small rod was shaped like U. Surprisingly quick the pike was near the shore bank. The bank was a little steep so naturally i had to step in the lake knee deep to liplock the pike with bare hands. After taking a quick selfie with the pike I released it back to grow! What a nice surprise and a cherry on top of the cake after a nice day. Luckily i had spare boots and socks with me and we had the sauna straight after this so it was ok.
